“Artivism” aims to be a new way for Arts to stay true to their rich history of social critique, drawing our attention by unmasking uncomfortable truths in ways that are hard to avoid. It invites everyone to join and to elevate its voices by using arts as a way to bring light to the dark side of modern beauty and weight-loss industries.

By engaging communities across the globe in the process of both creation and dissemination, this project will assert the critical role of community engagement and collective deliberation in dismantling the most deceptive promises of our beauty and thinness ideals. Ideals that can devastate minds, bodies, and be very costly in terms of lives.
